Question number two, from [ Karen Lynch ]: "What was your wedding song and why did you choose it?" Actually, my husband and I didn't really have a wedding song per se. It's pretty funny; we spent two weeks selecting and burning four CDs of music for entertainment during the reception, only to have everyone talking and visiting so much that no one wanted to man the CD player. We do have a special song though, that's been a favorite since we started dating: "You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This" by Toby Keith.
"What is your favorite piece of music that you can play? Or what music do you want to learn?" Another hard question! I've got two, actually, Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" and Mussorsky's "Night on Bald Mountain." Both were band arrangements that I played in Junior High, and they really cemented my appreciation for classical music. On "1812," I was playing the Alto Sax part, and on "Night on Bald Mountain," I was playing the Baritone Sax--my first time playing the instrument, actually. For my favorite solo piece of music, I think Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" is awesome, and also anything by Bach or Corelli. As for the music I'd like to learn, I would love to see if there is an arrangement of Torelli's "Trumpet Concerto in D" for Saxophone--I think it'd be a hoot. Also, the "Meditation" from Thais, I forget by who. |
