What is you favorite book, and why?

Wow, tough question.  Do I have to choose only one?

I would have to say my favorite book(s) is/are The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis.  I loved them as a kid, and I re-read some of them recently and they still haven't lost their charm or delight.

I think I love them because they really sparked my imagination about the existence of other worlds, dimensions, fantastic things in general, and they were the first set of books that, when I reached the end, I cried.

Of course, I've got many, many others that have special places in my heart, Lord of the Rings by Tolkien, The Dragonriders of Pern series and Brainship series by McCaffrey, The Tao te Ching by Lao Tzu, the Myst books by the Miller brothers, Beowulf translated by Heaney, The Highwayman by Salvatore, and on, and on, and on....
